Mariana Duarte Santos

Mariana Duarte Santos was born in 1995 in Lisbon, Portugal. She studied at a secondary school specializing in the arts and later studied drawing and printmaking at university.

She held group and solo exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, USA, United Kingdom and Ireland.

In 2019 he painted his first large-scale outdoor mural and dared to have more than 50 murals in Portugal, Spain, Luxembourg and Ireland.

His work is figurative in nature, focusing mainly on painting, drawing and engraving, but also influenced by other artistic areas such as cinema and literature.

With regard to public art, the themes he works on focus mainly on concepts of memory, collective identity and local histories, which is why archive images are fundamental in his mural work.
